“Natural Beekeeping”

Recommended books:  “Bees in America” by Tammy Horn,

“Spring without Bees”  by. M. Schacker, and “Fruitless Fall” by Rowan Jacobsen.

Recipe for powdered sugar shake:  2 lbs. powdered sugar, 4 oz. garlic power—shake over frames until bees come out front entrance white.  Helps keep SHB and mite levels down.  Also place 3-4 wintergreen cough drops on bottom board of hive after nectar flow.

Recommended:  Three banded bee

Recommended:  Trees:  Black locust and Honey Locust as good nectar source.  Virginia Department of Forestry sells them at cost.  (see website for more information)
