Welcome to Rockwood Park Backyard Beekeepers Association (RPBBA)!

Our mission at RPBBA is to promote community awareness of bees and their important role for human life. RPBBA teaches people about bees and encourages them to become certified master beekeepers. We are a 501(c)(3) Corporation incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month from 7:00pm to 8:30pm with occasional exceptions. Click here to see current calendar at Rockwood Nature Center. Scroll down or click here for map.

If you are a new beekeeper, do not be intimidated. There is a steep learning curve to understanding our Apis mellifera friends. We are here to help get you through that learning curve and even get you on the path to becoming a Master Beekeeper if that is your desire. Our club is more than a decade old and we have some great enthusiastic teachers and mentors.

Not interested in being a beekeeper, but found a swarm near you?

We would love to help re-home those honey bees with a RPBBA club member.

We do send a monthly newsletter to members and non-members. If you would like to be added to our e-mail list, please submit this form:
